Casino Stud Poker is five card stud poker played against the dealer with the object being to beat the dealer's hand. The game is played using 52 cards (one deck) which are shuffled after each round.
To enter the game the player must ante up. You are then dealt 5 cards face up the dealer also receives 5 cards only one of which is showing. You then have the option of betting or folding. If you bet you will wager twice your original ante or you have the option of folding and only losing your ante bet. If you bet the dealers cards will then be revealed and the winner determined. (NB the dealer can only play hands that contain either a King or an Ace to qualify otherwise the player will only get paid for their ante wager and the bet is returned).
In Pai Gow the dealer and player are both dealt seven cards which are then used to make a five card hand (high hand) and a two card hand (low hand). For the player to win you must beat both of the dealers hand if the player only wins one hand this is classed as a tie. The dealer always absolute ties where both hands are matched.
The game is played with one deck (52 cards) and one joker which is a wild card and can only be used to complete straights, flushes, straight flushes or used as an ace.
These games are similar to poker with several different versions available e.g. Jacks or Better, Deuces Wild and All American to name a few (see individual sites for their versions). The main difference in video poker is that you are not playing against other players instead you are trying to get the best hand possible in order to achieve the highest payout's. On placing your bet you are dealt five cards, you can then either hold or discard any or all of your cards and replace them with new ones.
Yet another version of poker, this game as the name implies is played using only 3 cards and is very quick. The player is dealt three cards face up the dealer three cards face down from one deck of 52 cards.
Most casinos offer two games which can be played separately or at the same time. These are called Pair Plus and Ante Play.
In Ante Play you need a higher hand than the dealer to win, (NB the dealer needs Queen high or greater to play).
In Pair Plus the player needs to get a three card hand containing at least one pair and the player is then paid out regardless of the dealer's hand.
